Who:
Students
from Stockton University’s Environmental Studies program, Assistant Professor
Emma Witt, Bridgeton Mayor Albert Kelly, Dean Peter Straub of the School of
Natural Sciences and Mathematics (NAMS).
What: Students will present their findings
after assessing natural resources in the Bridgeton City Park and the lower
Cohansey watershed. They evaluated aquatic, terrestrial and avian wildlife
resources, water quality in Sunset Lake and the Cohansey River and watershed,
and forest resources. The course was designed as a “Community Classroom”
project with the City of Bridgeton, allowing students to use their skills and
knowledge to bring about positive change in the community while also getting
hands-on learning.
When: Tuesday, Dec. 13, from 9 a.m. until
approximately 10:30 a.m.
Where: The Board of Trustees Meeting
Room in the Campus Center of Stockton University, 101 Vera King Farris Drive,
Galloway, N.J.
