BRIDGETON
TO UNDERTAKE RACEWAY REPAIRS ALONG MAYOR AITKIN DRIVE
As part of continuing
improvement efforts to the City Park infrastructure, City officials announced
this week that additional repair will be completed by South State, LLC on the
Raceway bank south of the basketball courts to the Veteran’s Memorial Park area
on Mayor Aitken Drive.
The repair is being
undertaken to correct water seepage that has been plaguing portions of Mayor
Aitken Drive and related southern-most portions of Bridgeton City Park. The section of the Raceway trail in the affected
area will be closed to pedestrian foot traffic while repairs are being
completed.
While Sunset Lake will not
see any effects, City officials did note that the public should anticipate
lower than normal water levels in the Raceway while repairs are being carried
out. Repair work is expected to take between 2 and 4 weeks to complete.
