PROPERTY REVALUATION INSPECTIONS BEGIN IN BRIDGETON

WHO: Tyler Technologies

WHAT: Property Revaluation

WHERE: City of Bridgeton (City-wide)

WHEN: June 2014 to September 2014

WHY:

Today, the City of Bridgeton announced commencement of its revaluation of all taxable property within the City for the 2015 tax year. The City has contracted Tyler Technology to conduct the revaluation program; a brochure explaining the process was mailed to taxpayers last week. The purpose of the revaluation, the City’s first since 1993, is being conducted to ensure uniform and equitable tax assessments of all property.

Inspectors from Tyler Technologies will begin the process of physical inspection of all properties this week. Tyler Technologies will be measuring and photographing the exteriors of the buildings and inspecting home interiors. Inspections will begin in the city’s Third Ward, near Bridgeton High School, and will systematically progress through the City over the summer months. Inspections are expected to conclude in September, 2014.

All inspectors will be clearly identified with bright safety vests bearing the company name and will have photo identification. Additionally, inspectors’ names and vehicles are on file with the city, including the police department. Please do not allow anyone to enter your home without proper identification. If residents have concerns about the person identifying him or herself as a revaluation inspector, they are asked to call Tyler Technologies Toll-Free (1-844-370-3515), or the Bridgeton Police Department (856-451-0033), to verify the location and identity of inspectors.

Upon completion of data gathering and valuation, property owners will be notified of their preliminary property valuation, as well as procedures to review the assessment with an appraiser from Tyler Technologies in November 2014.

Inquiries with respect to the inspection procedure should be directed to Tyler Technologies at (1-844-370-3515).             #                 #                #
